He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendell Blades-Carter and Vera May Blades-Carter (Bezanson); his siblings, Coralie Ripley, Debbie Blades and Samuel Blades; his brothers-in-law, Coates Ripley and Bill Moore; his stepfather Leon Carter; his stepsiblings, Pansy Crawford, Jean Gower and Orland Carter; his nephew Christopher Ripley; and his stepnephews, Joey and Darren Crawford.

He is survived by: his siblings, Jean Carter (Vernon) of Hartford, Bill Blades (June) of Amherst, Yvonne Moore of Middleboro, Danny Blades (Kim) of Streets Ridge, Orville Blades (Kathleen) of Middleboro and Laura Hunter (Dennis) of Sackville, N. B.; his sister-in-law Wanda Blades of Pugwash Jct; and his stepbrother Wilfred Carter (Maggie) of Prince George, B. C.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
