She was predeceased by : her parents, Kenneth Phinney and Della Phinney (Sears); her former life partner William Forbes; her husband Albert Legere; her daughter Della Mae; and her siblings, Marjorie Snowdon and Ernest Phinney.

She is survived by : her stepdaughters, Lois Tracey (David) of Kentville, NS, Brenda Long (John) of Sackville, NB and Anne Maxwell of Shediac, NB; her grandchildren, William, Colby, Kylie and Nellie; her great grandchildren, Mya-Mae, Derrick, Claire, Mylah-Rae and Matteo; her siblings, Vernon Phinney (Tammy), Reva Cook and Bernice Snowdon; and her sister-in-law Marilyn Phinney. She is also survived by 11 step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren.

Donations in memory of Nellie may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
