He was predeceased by : his parents, Cyril MacDonald and Mary Claire MacDonald (Kelly); his aunt Bernadine Kelly; and his brother-in-law Paul Landry. He is survived by : his wife Paula (Lavoie); his daughter Heather Fortune (Eugene); his grandchildren, Alyssa and Daniel; his sister Peggy Arsenault (Donnie); his nieces and nephews, Nathan (Sherill) and Andrea; his great-nieces, Maria and Sophia; his nieces and nephews, Jocelyn (Christian), William and Paul; and his sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Lavoie and Sandra Landry (family: Matthew, André, Austyn).

In lieu of flowers donations in Allan's memory may be made to the Pictou County Palliative Care Society or a charity of choice.
