He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Barkhouse and Elsie Barkhouse (Cox); his siblings-in-law, Stuart MacDonald, Russell Crowe and Jean Stensrud; and his nephews, William MacDonald and Trevor Chayko.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon (Crowe); his children, Peggy Yakimovitch (Vance) and Jerry Barkhouse (Raeanne); his siblings, Gerry Barkhouse (Barb), Beth MacDonald Barnes (Gord), Braeshore, Bonnie Chayko (Len) and Alberta; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Crowe and Doug Crowe. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
