He was predeceased by : his parents, Daniel Bowen and Mildred Bowen (Hayman); and his siblings, Carol Ann (Martell), Keith Bowen and Harriet Bowen.

He is survived by : his siblings, Dan Bowen (Edna) of Pictou, Stanley Bowen (Linda) of Pictou, Jack Bowen (Steffany) of Edmonton, AB, Janet Corbett of Pictou, Judy Cormier (Ron) of Pictou, Joanne Bowen of Pictou and Brenda McKenna (John) of Antigonish.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
