He was predeceased by: his parents, Israel Melanson and Irene Melanson (Findell); his son Jody; his sister Juanita; his nephew Troy; and his brothers-in-law, Robbie and Ernie.

He is survived by: his wife Debbie; his son Cory (Pam); his siblings, Gary (Doug), Vanessa, Tony (Sally) and Gail (Brian); his stepchildren, William, Treena (Rory), Andy and Amanda (Rick); his grandchildren, Courtney (Ben), Jacob, Logan, Kaylah and Emma; his great grandchildren, Lidia and Owen; and his grandchildren, Harley and Zoe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
