He was predeceased by: his parents, Elroy Shand and Evelyn Shand (Larkin); and his sister Margaret Nickerson (Bennie). He is survived by: his former wife Helen Newell; his brother-in-law Bennie Nickerson; his wife Arlene Shand of Port Clyde; his children, Douglas Shand (Darlene) and Donna Shand; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Cory), Jonathan (Charmaine) and Justin; his great grandchildren, Austin, Amy and Drew; and his stepchildren, Andrea Nickerson Barrington (Sid), Cathy Nickerson Pubinco (Brian) and Bobby Smith.
