He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Cogswell and Sarah "Sadie" Cogswell (McNamara); and his siblings, Jim, Eddie, Francis and Mary Howlett.

He is survived by : his wife Anita (McNamara); his children, Debbie, Brenda, Cynthia (Joe), Norma and Barry (Shirley); his grandchildren, Michelle, Erin, Lesley, Ashley, Dana, Alyssa, Lacey, Evan, Shaun, Jonathan and Kyle; his great grandchildren, Riley, Ava, Nora, Joey, Maggie, Charlotte and Jack; his brother Cecil (Diane); and his sisters-in-law, Edna Cogswell and Margaret McNamara. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
