It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hugh A MacLeod of Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, who passed away on April 12, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Angus Nicholson and Margaret Ellen MacLeod (Lamey); his wife Mary MacLeod (MacLellan); his parents-in-law, Ronald and Christine MacLellan; his children, Charlene, Mark, Ronalda and Joseph; and his sister Shirley Mac Leod.

He is survived by: his daughters, Paula MacDougall (Angus), Hughina MacDougall (John) and Heather Macleod (Rodney Morgan); his son-in-law Bruce Edwards; his grandchildren, Brent, Brooke (Steven), Nicole Edwards, Grant, Colin, Ellen MacDougall (Kyle), Jorden, Brayden MacDougall, Patrick (Mya), Kyle and Mary Flora Holder; his great grandchildren, Bella MacDonald and Briar Sutherland; his siblings, David MacLeod (Josephine) and Ruth Carroll (John); his cousin George MacLeod (Shelia); his sister-in-law Charlotte Campbell (Alexander); and his caregivers, Shauna, Amber and Debbie.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kempt Road Cemetery fund or charity of choice.
