He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hicks and Ella Hicks (MacKay); his wife Rena; his son Dale; and his granddaughter Ashley.

He is survived by: his children, Clinton (Donna), Wade (Karen), Tim (Barb) and Jane Anne (Mike); his daughter-in-law Caroline; his siblings, Evelyn MacCara (Gordon) and Robert Hicks (Annie); and his grandchildren, Meghanne, Adam, Alyson, Katelyn, Taylor, Rebecca, Shannon and Rachael. He is also survived by his grandchildren, He was a warm and caring grandfather who loved his grandchildren.
