Joan Marilyn Embree Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Marilyn Embree of Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 30, 2026 at the age of 68. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Skinner and Theresa Skinner (Goicoechea). She is survived by: her husband Brian Embree of Port Hawkesbury; her son Christopher Skinner (Robin); her stepson Shane; her grandson Gavin of Grande Prairie, AB; and her siblings, Shirley Sikora (Lionel), Barbara Fry (Robert) of Pictou, NS, Maureen Sampson (Kevin) of Martinique, NS, Tracy Randall (Glen) of Evanston, NS, Charlie Skinner of Tracadie, NS, Harvey Skinner (Roseina), Patrick Skinner (Cheryl), Labrador and Nfld. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, February 4th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #43 (303 Reeves St, Port Hawkesbury, NS B9A2R6).
Donations in Joan's memory may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre or charity of choice.
