He was predeceased by: his parents, Nina Forbrigger and Bill Forbrigger; his parents-in-law, Lena and Henry Slater; and his siblings, Melvin (Lorena), Stan (Burrell), Francis (Don) and Pauline (Bill).
He is survived by: his wife Joan Sharon Slater; his children, Michelle Forbrigger (Chris Hamoen) of Austin and William Forbrigger (Charlee) of Bedford; his grandsons, Michael, Grant and John Forbrigger; his siblings, Jeanette Rizzuto (Forbrigger), Thelma Forbrigger and Bob Forbrigger (Carmel); his sister-in-law Lorena Forbrigger; and his in-laws, Gail (Michael Zareski) and Greg Slater (Francie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, and godchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Homes (724 Granville St, Port Hawkesbury, NS B9A2N8). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church (138 Granville St, Port Hawkesbury, NS B9A2G1).
Donations can be made in Mike's name to either The Strait Richmond Hospital, The Inverary Manor or St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery Fund.
