He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Fulton McKenna and Cleophus Horne; his sister Joan MacIntyre (Kerry Ruth); his nephew Jamie McKenna; and his brother-in-law Clifford MacIntyre.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Jean Lee of Porter's Lake, NS; his sons, Ryan McKenna of Porter's Lake, NS, Ian McKenna of New York, NY, Paul Francis McKenna of Calgary, AB and Joseph Henry McKenna of Halifax, NS; the mother of his children Barbara McKenna; and his siblings, Joyce Holley, Faye Steeves, Paula Tulkens, Dawn McKenna, Gary McKenna, Dan McKenna and Wade McKenna. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion.
