The family announces the passing of Edith Goldie Stoddard (Shelburne, Nova Scotia) on September 20, 2026. Edith, born on February 4, 1929, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ethren Wickens and Olive Wickens (Harlow); her husband Albert "Hummy" Stoddard; her son Joseph; her daughter-in-law Angela Stoddard; and her siblings, Earl, Arthur, Walter, Sandy, Louise Thorburne (Vincent), Norma Goreham (Angus) and Luella Welton (Ken).
She is survived by: her sons, Timothy (Joy), John and Woods Harbour; her granddaughters, Melissa Nickerson (Craig) of Kelowna, BC, Christina Stoddard and Woods Harbour; her great grandchildren, Liam and Maizie Nickerson of Kelowna, BC; and her brother Allister Wickens (New York). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Huskilson's Funeral Home (58 Bulkley St, Shelburne, NS B5A2X8). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bear Point Baptist Church (3 Bear Point Rd, Shag Harbour, NS B0W2E0). A burial will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at the Birch Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Nakile Home for. Special Care, the Bear Point Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.
