She was predeceased by: her husband Layton Spencer; her sister Dorothy; and her parents, Walter Stewart and Kathleen Stewart. She is survived by: her children, Brenda Downie and Walter Spencer; her children-in-law, Kathy Spencer and Tim Downie; her grandchildren, Christy Wilson (Craig), Lindsey Downie (Travis MacAleese), Katie Doane (Jevon), Ashley Downie (Phil Whitham) and Josh Spencer (Amanda Swansburg); and her great grandchildren, Lee, Max Wilson, Casey, Layton MacAleese, Cam, Mazie Doane, Charlie, Andie Whitham, Ryan and Leah Spencer.
At the request of the family, in place of flowers, donations in Marie's memory to the Roseway Hospital Auxiliary would be greatly appreciated, an organization very close to her heart.
