She was predeceased by : her father Rexford McKeil; her husband Charles Leroy O'Toole; her son Malcolm O'Toole; her grandchildren, Christopher and Sara; her brother Alan McKeil; and her sons-in-law, Keith Bourgeious and Kirk Nutter.

She is survived by : her mother Ruby McKeil (Spares); her children, Kathryn Bourgeois, Sharon Nutter, Hollis O'Toole (Karen), Joyce O'Toole (Dave Ivany) and Murray O'Toole; her daughter-in-law Kathy O'Toole; and her siblings, Douglas McKeil and Ada Campbell. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Donations in memory of Betty can be made to the East Hants Historical Society or the VON.
