He was predeceased by : his parents, Andrew and Madeline (Slaunwhite); his brothers, Vernon "Dickie" and Allister "Alley"; and his children, Viola Jean, Terry Ross and Keith Wayne.

He is survived by : his wife Charlotte "Shirley"; his children, David, Robert, June, Anne, Fred, Steven, Sheila and Allan; and his sisters, Sheila, Joan and Grace. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren as well as many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
