He was predeceased by: his parent Ralph Canning; and his brother Doug. He is survived by: his parent Marion Canning (Lockhart); his wife Eileen; his children, Scott Dan (Amy Sargent), Abby, Benson, Sophie and Macy; his siblings, Dorothy Smith of Calgary, Jack (Cheryl) of Amherst and Brian (Carolyn) of Collingwood; and his sister-in-law Elizabeth Canning of Amherst. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
