He was predeceased by : his parents, Lester O'Brien and Mary O'Brien (Lavers); his son Darrell; and his siblings, Olive Quinn, Audrey Redmond, Leslie, Kitchener and Keith.

He is survived by : his wife Eleanor; his children, Sandra Ripley (Amherst), Susan Mullin (Moncton) and Gerry O'Brien; and his brother Ralph O'Brien (Amherst). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Donations in memory of Gerald may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Alzheimer Association.
