He was predeceased by: his wife Jeanne (Marshall); and his siblings, Gertie Riddell (late Walter), Lucetta Cleveland (late Carl), Charles Mills (late Norma), Edward Mills (late Muriel), Oliver Mills (late Vivian), Donald Mills (late Esther), Hugh Mills and Marvin Mills (late Kaye Crawford).

He is survived by: his son Andy Mills (Wendy); and his grandchildren, Zac and Lara-Jeanne Mills. He is also survived by one brother.
