With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vena Hancock of Stellarton, Nova Scotia, who passed away on July 9, 2020 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Rufus Carr and Mary Jane Carr (Phillips); her husband Lionel Hancock; and her siblings, Clifford Carr, Olive McBride and Earla Lindsay.

She is survived by : her nephew Ed Carr; her great-niece Paula Carr Sharpe; her nieces, Vena Bowdridge (Dave), Brenda Carr, Cathy Jean and Ruth; her great-niece Janet; and her aunt Teenie. She is also survived by nephew and great nieces.

Diane Snow wrote a sympathy message

“Please accept my deepest condolences. Vena the last several months was my mother's roommate at the villa. The short while our family got to know this lovely lady. She was always a joy, her lovely smile, her wonderful little songs she sang and her and Mom's wonderful friendship. She will truly be missed. She often mentioned Lionel "someday,somewhere, we will be together again". She was extremely proud of her family sharing the lovely photos, and stuffed animals and cards she received. Diane Snow”
