Virginia Cunningham Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Virginia Cunningham of Stellarton, Nova Scotia. Virginia, born on May 5, 1926, passed away on August 21, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John William "Jack" and Elizabeth Mae "Mina" Carrigan (Fitt); her husband R. Webster "Webb" Cunningham; her sons, Donald Shelly Cunningham and Ronald Webster Cunningham; her grandson Wendell Cunningham; and her siblings, George "Dinny" Carrigan, Beatrice Doucette, Joanna Heighton, Willa Chadwick, Frances Germany, Florence Copeland and Marguerite Barton.
She is survived by: her children, Paula Merrigan (David) of Beaverbank, Meredith McGrath (Raymond) of Baddeck and Tara Pero (Daniel) of Truro; her daughter-in-law Linda Cunningham (Ronnie); her grandchildren, Amanda, Tyler, Courtney, Justin, Jennifer, Alexandra, Josh, Jordan and Madison; and her sister-in-law Patricia Cunningham. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the H. W. Angus Funeral Home (256 King St, New Glasgow, NS B2H4X8). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (242 S Foord St, Stellarton, NS B0K1S0).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
