He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter and Lorraine (Ross); his wife Georgina (Issacs); and his sisters, Virginia Atkinson and Joan Hazel.

He is survived by: his children, David Atkinson (Carolyn) and Betty Malone (Greg); his grandsons, Chris Atkinson (Jennifer), Jade Crowell, Shane Crowell and Skyler Malone (Kelsi); his great grandchildren, Aiden, Carter, Jayda, Riley, Gracelynn and Emberly; and his brothers, Winston (Bueina) of Stoney Island, Leo (Patricia) of Brass Hill and Sylvester of Middleton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
