He was predeceased by: his parents, Welton McLearn and Alice McLearn (Mason); his siblings, Etta Parker (Herman), Inez McKinnon (John), Minnie McLearn, Archie (Dot), Warren, Stewart, Lawrence and Eric; and his brother-in-law Lloyd Patterson.

He is survived by: his sister Mabel Patterson; and his sisters-in-law, Doris McLearn and Donna McLearn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
