He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Howatson and Theresa Howatson (MacNeil). He is survived by: his brothers, Cyril Howatson and Tom Aucoin; his siblings' children, Robert Reid, Wayne Brown, Ann Marie Howatson and Debbie Wells; his siblings-in-law, Gordon MacDonald, Kevin O'Driscoll, Billy Johnston, Sarah and Sandra Johnston; his parents-in-law, Mary Margaret and George Johnston; his wife Agnes Howatson (Johnston); his children, Colleen Brown (Howatson) and Tommy Johnston; his grandchildren, Jamie Brown, Justin Brown and Mariska Brown (Logan Rose); his great grandchildren, Hunter and Hayley Brown; his siblings, Annie Reid (George), Muriel MacDonald, Shirley O'Driscoll, Linda Flemming (George), Pam Dandy (Neil), Bobby Howatson (Veronica) and Gordie Howatson (Darlene); his sisters-in-law, Stella Howatson (Bruce), Yvonne Poole (Bill) and Mary Aucoin; Shyla Croft.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home (635 Main St, Sydney Mines, NS B1V2Y4). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Lakeside Cemetery.
