With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gerald Joseph Marks (Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by : his parents, Mary Bernadette "Detta" Marks (Tobin) and Arthur Samuel Marks; his brother Bernardhis; and his parents-in-law, Mary Eileen (Monaghan) and Umberto Viva.

He is survived by : his wife Medina (Viva); his son Christopher (Mary); his siblings, Carmelita MacRae and Lowell Marks; his siblings-in-law, Lola Tobin (Jimmy), Maria Blackie (Leo), Jimmy (Kathy), Michael (Carolyn), Owen (Darlene), Avery (Brenda), Pat (Alana) and Harvey LeBlanc; his grandson Mathew MacDonald (Matt); and his siblings-in-law, Joseph Young, William Viva and Anna Lee LeBlanc. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home (635 Main St, Sydney Mines, NS B1V2Y4). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, May 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Church.
