He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Penny and Emma Penny of Bras d'Or; his former wife Marilyn Penney (Handley); his siblings, Dorothy MacDougall, Jane Hannigan, Hilda Marsh, Joyce MacPhee, Mabel Osmond, Emma Matthews, Burgess and Tren; and his daughter-in-law Emmaline Penny.
He is survived by: his wife Noreen Penney (MacDonald); his siblings, Gertrude Bonnar (late James), Deborah Arsenault (Oscar) and Ricky Penny (Laura); and his nieces and nephews, Tren (Paula), Annabelle (Ken) and Shona. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Stewie's memory may be made to Hospice Cape Breton.
