He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Thurbide and Mary Thurbide (Devoe); his significant other Madonna LeBlanc (Donna); his brother-in-law Cyril LeBlanc (Zeke); his close friend Zeke; his siblings, Augustine (Gussie), Emerson (Emsie), Evangeline Mitchell (Vange) and Rosalie MacLean (Rosie); and his siblings-in-law, Frank, Joe, Willie LeBlanc, Mary O'Toole, Lil Forrest, Veronica Thériault and Marguerite Compton.
He is survived by: his brother Edward Thurbide of Alder Point; and his siblings-in-law, Leonard MacLean of Point Aconi and Joyce Paquet of Alder Point.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home (635 Main St, Sydney Mines, NS B1V2Y4). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph Church (162 Church Rd, Little Bras D'or, NS B1Y2Y2). A burial will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
