With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marie Bungay (Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia), who passed away on May 15, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fredrick Burns and Beatrice Burns (Harris); her son Louis; and her former husband Louis. She is survived by: her husband Theadore (Ted); her children, Patricia (Tom), Denise (Eddie), Heidi (Colin), Jack (Lani) and Richard (Sheri Dawn); her stepchildren, Rose (David) and Drew (Marcie); her daughter-in-law Lisa; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Julian, Ryan, Kirstie, Tommy, Greg, Erica, Keely, Adam, Alex, Ian, Nicholas, Mikela, Jacob, Nathan and Abby; her great grandchildren, Joseph, Asa, Brynn, Lennon, Luca, Jordyn, Romi and Owen; and her sister Liz (Alaister).
A celebration of life was held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home (635 Main St, Sydney Mines, NS B1V2Y4). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Alzheimer Society (https://alzheimer.ca) or a charity of one's choice.
