Martina Andrea, born on July 27, 1934, passed away on October 6, 2026. Martina leaves behind family members and others who acknowledge this loss. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Bates and Mary Bates (McInnes); her husband Gabe of Joseph's Roman Catholic Cemetery; and her siblings, Angus "Buster", Lawrence "Lonnie", Loretta, Kate, Leona (Ciancio) and Carmel (Hubbard).
She is survived by: her children, Gerard, Kevin (Joanie), Larry (Wendy), Steve (James), Anita (Liam MacNeil), Brian (Wanda) and Martin (Michelle); her grandchildren, Caitlin, Bailey, Sean, Meghan, Andrea, Kale, Genevieve, Peter, Breagh, Mary Kate, Matthew, Luke and Noah; and her great grandchildren, Hunter and Chloe.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home (635 Main St, Sydney Mines, NS B1V2Y4). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (9 MacKay St, Sydney Mines, NS B1V1R5).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northside Hospital Foundation.
