He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Matthew (Cape Breton) and Marion Theresa Miller (Horton); his wife Mary Irene (Black); his granddaughter Laura; his siblings, Brian, Cyril and Joseph'Joe'; and his siblings-in-law, Elaine, Theresa and James'Jimmy'Willis.

He is survived by: his daughter Maureen Devine (John); his grandsons, Sean (Allison) and Liam (Cass); his son Michael (Marieanne); his grandson Dan (Samantha); his son Robert (Colette); his grandchildren, Andrew and Alyson; and his siblings, Kevin (Fran), Gerald'Gerry', Judith'Judy', Rohan, Darryl, Daniel'Danny' and Patricia'Trishe'. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.

A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, February 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima Church (1452 Kings Rd, Sydney River, NS B1S1E6).
