He was predeceased by: his parents, William Miller and Alice Miller (Schwartz); his siblings, William Miller and Shirley MacAthur; and his great grandchild Emmett Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Vera Miller (Cameron); his children, Vera Urquhart, Barbara Chiasson (Buddy Collet), Douglas (Lorna), Linda Donavan (Kelly), Stephen (Deborah) and Karen Middleton (Richard); and his half-sister Vanava. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Donations in memory of Charles can be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Care Centre or the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
