She was predeceased by: her husband Earl Taker; her siblings, Annie May Ross (Allison), Alice MacLeod (John Angus), Betty Kowalczyk (Joe), Christina, Donald, Alex Ferguson and James Alex MacLeod; her foster brother Eric Pardington; and her brother-in-law Donald "Ducky" Kerr.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Enns, Blair (Pearl MacDonald), Diane (Fred Lynk), Greg (Mary Elizabeth) and Ken (Beverly Lapenna); her grandchildren, Gordon Kelly (Alicia), Sheri Norum (Greg), Debra Somani (Jay), Michael Taker (Martan), Erica Lavergine (Jason), Craig Lynk (Shelley), Mark Lynk (Richelle), Asheley Taker (Jeremie LeBlanc), Brianna Taker (Chris Whattam), Kyle Taker (Amber Foote) and Caitlin Smith (Spencer); her sister Marjorie Kerr; and her sister-in-law Theresa Ferguson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sydney Memorial Chapel (49 Welton St, Sydney, NS B1P5R3). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Bethel Presbyterian Church (9 Brookland St, Sydney, NS B1P5B1).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, Sydney, the Salvation Army or Red Cross.
