He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard and Jeanne; his sister Mary Brake; his in-laws, Max and Isabel Moore; and his brothers-in-law, John Moore and Lloyd MacCormack.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Moore (Margaret Jean); his sons, Richard (Barbra) and Trevor (Tammy); his grandchildren, Joshua (Rachel), Jacob (Linsey), Elisha (Josh), Isaiah (Emily), Bryce and Kira; his great grandchildren, McKenna, Maeve, Hucksley and Beau; his sisters, Julie (Andy) and Teresa (John); and his siblings-in-law, Ned, Wilfred (Judith), Gary (Nancy) and Maxine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County.
