She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeremiah Francis King and Ellen Nellie (Sugg); her boyfriend Gerald Hutt (Bob); and her siblings, Jerry, Levi, George, John, Bill, Vivian and Mary.
She is survived by: her children, Robbie (Kim) and Lisa; her grandchildren, Tyler, Brendan (Nicole), Evan, Brett, Brody and Brooklyn; her great grandchildren, Braxton and Bentley; her sisters, Annie Pottie, Helen Wadden, Esther Keough (late Frank "Fats") and Carolyn Costigan (Robert Pettipas); and her sister-in-law Sally Kolchetski. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Eastmount Cemetery (338 E Broadway, Sydney, NS B1N3K1).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society, Feral and Abandoned Cat Society, or do a good deed in Joan's memory.
