He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Matheson and Mabel Matheson; and his siblings, Tom, Alexander 'Sandy' (Grace), Winnipeg and Mabel Eva.

He is survived by: his wife Reta; his children, Michael of Edmonton, AB and Sherry; his grandchildren, Jaret and Emily; and his sister Mary Florence Jobe. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

We as a family will be celebrating Joes life at a later date, due to Covid-19.
