He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Mary (Ardelli); his parents, Helen Assoun (O'Dea) and Reginald Assoun; his stepfather Myles Furlong; his brothers, Jim, John, Louis, Ron, David and Glen; and his siblings' children, Stephanie, Darin and Troy.

He is survived by: his siblings, Kimberly (Darren) and Kevin (Brenda); and his siblings' children, Reg, Brent, Dean, Keith, Kathy, Jim, Peter, Tracey, Darlene, Angela, Kirt, Aaron, Glenn, Tanya, Amanda, Jamie, Meghan, Carter, Maria, Thomas, John, Barbara, Bernadette, Virgil, Stephen, Kim, Caitlin, Ethan, Camille, Jennifer, Erin and Ryan.
