She was predeceased by: her parents, Carter Gillis and Margie Gillis (Beck); and her grandson Nelson (Donald MacDonald). She is survived by: her children, Peggy Murchison (Earl), Elaine Hayes (Pete), Holly Bolivar (Bryden), Carter Hayes (Paulette) and Jamie Hayes (Kellie); her stepchildren, Bruce, Evan and Belle; and her grandchildren, Melissa, Scott, Krystle, Jessica, Mathew, Dylon, Cassandra, Alexandra, Jacklyn, Brett, Kamron and Emilie. She is also survived by great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Breton SPCA, the Feral and Abandoned Cat Society, or a charity of one's choice.
