She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Russell and Shirley Russell (Holley). She is survived by: her daughter Cherie Bryden (Mark); her former husband Gordon McVicar (Carol Mason); her sisters, Jeanne Russell and Sharon Russell-Putt; her aunts, Jean Holley and Doreen MacKinnon (Fraser); Rebel. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 28th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Sydney Memorial Chapel (49 Welton St, Sydney, NS B1P5R3).
In lieu of flowers, because of her love of all animals tamed or wild, the family requests that donations be made to the Cape Breton SPCA or Two Rivers Wildlife Park.
