Maria (Raptis) Xidos Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maria (Raptis) Xidos (Sydney, Nova Scotia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 10, 2025 at the age of 90. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Maria (Raptis) Xidos to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Raptis and Athena Raptis (Tsipuras); her brother Teddy; and her goddaughter Cathy Mavrogiannis. She is survived by: her children, George (Michele), Teddy (Tracy) and Nina (Bob); her grandchildren, Peter, Thomas (Tracey), Nick and Chris; her great grandchildren, Kit, Owen and JJ; her sister Christine; and her godchildren, John Paul Angelopoulos, Joanne Hong and George Vikelis.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Sydney Memorial Chapel (49 Welton St, Sydney, NS B1P5R3). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church (17 Marconi St, Glace Bay, NS B1A2P2).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Maria's name may be made to Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church or to a charity of your choice.
