He was predeceased by: his parents, Marilyn Crane (MacAskill) and Bill Crane. He is survived by: his children, Mason Lewis (Ravyn) and Kaitlyn Lewis (Darren); his grandchildren, Aurora Elaine and Miley Lynn; his stepmother Mary Crane (MacPhee); his siblings, Lorne, Stephen and Mary Ann (Aldon Snow); his uncle Butch MacAskill; his close friends, Adam, Cindy, Jimmy, Michelle, Preston and Tara; and his pet Louie. He is also survived by many cousins, extended family.

Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the All Faith Chapel (1092 Victoria Rd, Sydney, NS B1N1L1). A memorial service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.

Donations in memory of Michael may be made to a charity of one's choice.
