He was predeceased by: his father Murray Rose; and his brother David. He is survived by: his mother Mary Rose (Blanchard); his children, Nicole (Nfld) and Brandon (Shelley); his grandchildren, Bree, Scottie May and Olivia; his siblings, Darlene MacKinnon (Joseph Pike), Sydney Forks, Janet Ehler (Denton) and Wayne; his girlfriend Debbie Smith; and his girlfriend's daughter Rachael. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Centre at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
