He was predeceased by : his parents, George Hennessey and Jean Hennessey (Fraser); his sister-in-law Mary MacRae; and his nephew Don MacRae. He is survived by : his wife Anne (MacRae); his children, Liam Hennessey (Stephanie) and Lisa Raitt (Bruce Wood); his grandchildren, Lola, Ruby Hennessey, C. J. and Billy Raitt; his siblings-in-law, Trisha Morrison (Darrel) and Ed MacRae (Broughton); and his aunt Harriett Hennessey. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Vascular Dementia Research, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetic Association.
