Miss Rosie, as she was known, was the light in many people's lives. Her smile was one that made everyone around her smile back. Rosie was loved and famous for her Thursday and Saturday nights spaghetti and meatballs suppers before going dancing at the Ashby Legion, and how she loved to dance with her buddy, Jean.
Rosie was better known as "The Crescent Mom" to all the neighbourhood kids. She loved blueberry picking up on Blueberry Hill. Her Christmas baking and perogie making, with her sister, Patricia, was one of the best memories for the many, many people who got to enjoy, from her carrot cake, to her pineapple squares, to her shortbreads, all of which she made with so much love.
Miss Rosie loved movie dates and time spent with her hunny bun, her grandson, Dustin Newton. Blood doesn't make you family, as she would always say about her grandchildren that she took and loved as her own. (DADB).
He past four years that she lived with her son, Jimmy and Tina, Rosie definitely lived life to its fullest, from seeing all four seasons of the Cabot Trail, nights spent in hotels while going to the zoo and on the Harbour Hopper, attending Christmas Dinner Theatres at the Savoy with her special niece, Tonya MacAskill to going to the Drag Show and getting her first lap dance.
Many special visits were enjoyed with Alicia and Paul and their children, Paul James and Addison and dancing in the kitchen with Alicia to Johnny Reid. She also enjoyed bon fires with Dustin and Jimmy while singing and dancing with Tina and Aurora, and getting special hugs from her favorite hugger, Aurora's fiancé, Mitchell Hicks. Many visits and memories were made with her grandson, James, Amy, Jessa-Lynne and Brooke. Going for drives on the Spyder with Tina and sitting on the deck all summer waiting and watching the cruise ships sail by, she loved that.
Miss Rosie enjoyed playing VR with David, having suppers and movie nights in Donkin with her buddy, her grandson, David, many movie and dip nights with Tina, Tonya, Emily and Aurora watching scary movies in the basement or going to the theatres, many visits and chats with her best friend/"Daughter", Marguerite Dawe, her special surprise on Mother's Day when her brother, Hubba came down to visit, her visit from her special friend and sister-in-law, Sharon Moules and her special visits from her two nieces, Larissa Boone and Kim Giorno.
Miss Rosie even got to name the family dog, which she named after her mother, Charlotte. She really loved Charlotte.
She enjoyed spending a couple nights on the Mira with her daughter, Sherri, Jason and granddaughters, Maddison, and Mia.
A special thank you goes out to the City Homemakers and her respite Home Care Workers, Maddy Cann, Tasha McGean and Ida (Charlene) Demeyere. Thank you to the VON Adult Day Program that she attended and loved and thank you to the staff and doctors in the CCU at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for your exceptional care of Miss Rosie.
A private family graveside service will be held.
Miss Rosie will be so missed by every single person, as she touched everyone's heart in various ways. It is now time for Miss Rosie to have her forever dance with her buddy, her loving husband, Danny.
