He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Fitzgerald and Margaret Fitzgerald (MacDonald); his sister Margaret; and his sister-in-law Winnie Murphy (Herb). He is survived by: his wife Louise Fitzgerald (Zwicker); his son Dwayne (Marney); his grandchildren, Cayleigh and Hannah; his daughter Emma; the parent of his child Michele; his daughter Allison Humber (Darryl); his siblings, Wayne (Lida) and Norma Ball (Gary); and his siblings-in-law, Kay Pearson (Ed), Marilyn MacLean (Jim), Holly Doyle (Robert), Albert Zwicker (Pauline) and Bernie Fitzgerald. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Memorials may be made to the An Cala Palliative Care Unit or the Cancer Patient Care Fund.
