It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stephen James Purcell (Sydney, Nova Scotia), born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, who passed away on April 16, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Reginald Purcell and Anne Purcell (Muldowney); and his sisters, Peggy Purcell and Marti Koury (Carl). He is survived by : his wife Lynda Lou MacIntyre; his daughters, Sheena Purcell (Danny Gertman), Mora Purcell (Rory MacDonald), Sydney and Caitlyn Purcell (Joshua MacDonald); his stepson Patrick Curtin (Lalita Bissoondharry); his grandchildren, Myron, Aviv, Rubin, Ira, Sterling, Orla, Sandy, Zinnia and Julia (Josh); his great grandchild Joshie; his siblings, Joan Purcell (Wayne Rogers), Colleen Purcell (David Orr) and Neil Purcell Arden (Myra Segal); and his uncle Eric Mercer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Black Diamond (76 Townsend St, Sydney, NS B1P5C8).

Donations can be made in his memory to the Book Mobile division of the Cape Breton Regional Library or Loaves and Fishes.
