He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Gardiner and Doris Gardiner (Mercer). He is survived by: his wife Flora (MacKeigan); his son Dr. James Gardiner (Angie); his grandchildren, Sophie and Lauchie; his brother Jack Gardiner (Betty); and his nieces, Michelle, Paulette and Jill.

He inspired so many in his quiet supportive way - a humble man who never aspired to the spotlight.
