With sadness, we share the passing of Agnes Heather Read in Truro, Nova Scotia. Agnes passed away on July 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Roderick Dean Read; her parents, Elizabeth Hastie (Turner) and William Hastie; her son Stephen; and her siblings, John, William (Doris), Alex (Betty), Margaret (James), Helen (Andrew) and Elizabeth "Betty" (Lloyd).
She is survived by: her family Scottish; her sons, Malcolm (Gail) of Fenwick, NS, Rev. Randall (Patricia) of Rusagonis, NB and Robin (Krista) of Amherst, NS; her daughter-in-law Elaine (late Stephen); her sister Ella (late Glen); and her grandchildren, Jonathon, Justin (Amy), Julie (Robin), Christopher (Adey), Matthew (Jennifer), Charles (Laura), Jaacob (Loralee), Emily (Peter) and Jillian (Brendan). She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Agnes may be made to the Philae Shriners c/o Cumberland Shrine Club.
