She was predeceased by: her parent Everett Matthew "Red"; her husband Claude Atkinson; and her siblings, June Taylor, Edna Forbes, Evelyn McNeil and Ed Varner.
She is survived by: her parent Miriam Evelyn Varner (Langille); her children, Cindy Canning (David) of Halifax and Donna Ackles (Robert) of Bible Hill; her grandchildren, Steven, Sam, Amy and Melissa; her great grandchildren, Sadie, Dawson, Jacob and Mason; and her sisters, Jeanette Webb of Bible Hill, Juanita McCabe of Bible Hill and Marie Bryan (Harry) of Harmony. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
