He is survived by: his parent Christina MacDonald (McKeough); his daughter Christina MacDonald (Julien Wickstrom); his sisters, Mary MacEachern of Linwood, Maureen MacDonald of Halifax, Margaret MacEachern of Stellarton and Bonnie Pilkington of Dartmouth; and his former wife Ruth McCabe.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lupus Society of Nova Scotia or Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia.
